But I'd say given the engraving, adjustable rear sight, and the type of front site that yours is a target model and those may very well be original grips. There is not much detail as to exaclty what the checkering or grips are to look like on that in the BB. The grips should have been checkered wood grips, which yours do have some checkering. You have a somewhat rare pistol, espeicialoy if it is one of the 11!!! That's pretty cool! But, again, there is not that much detail in the BB. The adjustable rear sight points to target. I've no idea which yours is, but it is one of the 151 and most likely a Target model if it is a 6 5/8" barrel and sport if 4 1/2" barrel. 126 Target models, 14 sport models, and 11 match target modes. With low of a serial number (<80,000) is likely the main spring housing is for "standard velocity" ammo only since high velocity design began at about SN 80,000.Īccording to BB, there were 151 Factory Engraved First Series Woodsman made before WWII.
